Tube Lines

The London Underground Line descriptions

There are 11 tube lines in London and the Elizabeth line which is actually more of a hybrid rail line, designated “Crossrail”. The 11 main Tube lines are detailed below and information on each is linked. The Elizabeth line which opened its doors, finally, in May 2022 and runs from Reading in the West to Shenfield in the East has not been added as full services are still not expected until 2023.

The Elizabeth line is represented by purple on the Tube map, serving 41 stations, including 10 brand-new stations built as part of the Crossrail project. The total length is 73 miles (118km). Making it one of the longest urban railways in Europe!
